Keramidomys mohleri was named by Engesser (1972). Its type specimen is NMB Al. 241, Switzerland, a tooth (M1 inf. dext.). Its type locality is Anwil, Baselland, which is in a MN 7 + 8 fluvial-lacustrine horizon in Switzerland.

B. Engesser 1972Relatively big species of Karamidomys, teeth strongly lophodont, main cusp less distinct developed than in elder species, P4 sup. reduced, without anteroloph. The first outer re-entrant angle (1. Aussensynklinale) of M1 sup. is little reduced. Mesoloph and mesolophid always long. Lower molars with nearly completely reduced or completely interupted transverse ridge. M1 and M2 inf. with four roots. M3 inf. little reduced. 3. re-entrant angle of upper molars labial, of lower molars lingual, clearly open, no tendency of the developement of ektoloph or endolophid.
