Taxonomy
Camposaurus was named by Hunt et al. (1998). Its type is Camposaurus arizonensis.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Irmis (2005); it was considered a nomen dubium by Nesbitt et al. (2007).
It was assigned to Ceratosauria by Hunt et al. (1998); to Coelophysoidea by Tykoski and Rowe (2004), Irmis et al. (2005) and Ezcurra and Brusatte (2011); to Coelophysidae by Spielmann et al. (2007) and Martinez and Apaldetti (2017); and to Coelophysinae by Ezcurra (2017).
It was considered a nomen dubium by Irmis (2005); it was considered a nomen dubium by Nesbitt et al. (2007).
