Carolinacetus gingerichi
Taxonomy
Carolinacetus gingerichi was named by Geisler et al. (2005). Its type specimen is ChM PV5401, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Martin Marietta Berkeley Quarry, Cross Member, which is in a Bartonian shallow subtidal limestone in the Tupelo Bay Formation of South Carolina.
