Confuciusornis dui
Taxonomy
Confuciusornis dui was named by Hou et al. (1999). Its type specimen is IVPP V11553, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton with feathers), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Libalanggou, Zhangjiyin, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine siltstone/mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.
