Taxonomy
Megalosauripus was named by Lessertisseur (1955).
It was synonymized subjectively with Bueckeburgichnus by Haubold (1971); it was considered a nomen nudum by Lockley et al. (1996), Lockley (2000), Lockley et al. (2000).
It was assigned to Theropoda by Romero Molina et al. (2003); and to Eubrontidae by Razzolini et al. (2017), Tsukiji et al. (2019).
