Orycterocetus cornutidens
Taxonomy
Orycterocetus cornutidens was named by Leidy (1856) [No type specimen designated by Leidy (1856).]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Green Mill Run, which is in a Zanclean marine horizon in the Yorktown Formation of North Carolina.
It was recombined as Physeter cornutidens by Trouessart (1898) and Trouessart (1904); it was synonymized subjectively with Orycterocetus crocodilinus by Case (1904).
