Eucinetidae was named by Lacordaire (1857). It is extant. Its type is Eucinetus.

It was assigned to Eucinetoidea by Crowson (1981); to Scirtoidea by Lawrence and Newton (1995); and to Clamboidea by Cai et al. (2022).
