Taxonomy
Biphyllidae was named by Leconte (1861). It is extant. Its type is Biphyllus.

It was assigned to Clavicornia by Crowson (1981); to Cucujoidea by Lawrence and Newton (1995); and to Cleroidea by Robertson et al. (2015), Gimmel et al. (2019), Cai et al. (2022), Alekseev et al. (2023).
