Taxonomy
Allecula was named by Fabricius (1801). It is extant. It is the type genus of Alleculites, Alleculini, Alleculina.
It was assigned to Eleuterata by Fabricius (1801); to Alleculidae by Zhang (1989); to Alleculini by Doyen and Poinar (1994), Kirejtshuk et al. (2008); and to Alleculina by Bousquet et al. (2018), Nabozhenko (2019), Bouchard et al. (2021).
