Desmatophoca brachycephala
Taxonomy
Desmatophoca brachycephala was named by Barnes (1987). Its type specimen is LACM 120199, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Knappton, east, which is in an Aquitanian marine horizon in the Astoria Formation of Washington.
