Gomphotaria pugnax
Taxonomy
Gomphotaria pugnax was named by Barnes and Raschke (1991). Its type specimen is LACM 121508, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is San Clemente, which is in a Messinian offshore siltstone in the Capistrano Formation of California.
