Taxonomy
Steiromys annectens was named by Ameghino (1901). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MACN A 52-606, right mandibular fragment with m1, roots and small part of the cr, a mandible.
It was recombined as Eosteiromys annectens by Kramarz (2004), Kramarz (2004).
