Cyrtonellopsis was named by Yochelson (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-l O Llvi Sepkoski's reference number: 1,110,1075]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Cyrtonellidae by Knight and Yochelson (1960) and Starobogatov (1970); to Cyrtolitidae by Runnegar and Jell (1976); and to Cyrtonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
