Grandostoma grande

Taxonomy

Salpingostoma grande was named by Perner (1903) [Barrande in Perner 1903]. It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Grandostoma.

It was recombined as Grandostoma grande by Horný (1963) and Wagner (2023).

Synonyms

Salpingostoma asteroideum was named by Reed (1921). It is not extant. Its type locality is Locality 5. “Starfish Bed,” small cliff above S. bank of Lady Burn River, 100 meters south of South Treave Farmhouse, Thraive Glen, Girvan, which is in a Rawtheyan carbonate limestone in the South Threave Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Grandostoma grande by Horný (1963) and Wagner (2023).
