Taxonomy
Etayoa was named by Villarroel (1987). It is not extant. Its type is Etayoa bacatensis.

It was assigned to Carodniidae by McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Xenungulata by Antoine et al. (2015), Gelfo et al. (2020).
