Taxonomy
Plesiosorex evolutus was named by Ziegler (2006). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NHMW 2004z0182/0001 M1 sup. dext., a tooth. Its type locality is Schernham, which is in a MN 10 terrestrial horizon in Austria.
