Taxonomy
Quercomys daamsi was named by Alvarez Sierra et al. (1991) [Authorship: De Visser, 1991]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is CUM SJ 193 M1 sup. dext, a tooth. Its type locality is San Juan, which is in a MN 2 terrestrial horizon in Spain.
It was recombined as Armantomys daamsi by Daams and de Bruijn (1995).
