Taxonomy
Xanthorhysis tabrumi was named by Beard (1998). Its type specimen is IVPP V12063, a mandible (left mandible with p3-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South of Liugou, which is in a Sharamurunian terrestrial horizon in the Heti Formation of China. It is the type species of Xanthorhysis.
