Petricola robusta was named by Sowerby (1834). It is extant.

It was recombined as Petricola (Rupellaria) robusta by Keen (1971); it was synonymized subjectively with Rupellaria typica by Woodring (1982); it was recombined as Choristodon robustus by Rosenberg (2005).

Petricola (Rupellaria) riocanensis was named by Maury (1917). It is a 3D body fossil.

Choristodon typicum was named by Jonas (1844). It is extant.
