Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
H. de Bruijn et al. 1992Meteamys is a rather large low-crowned muroid with cricetid dental pattern. The enamel band of the I is divided into a narrower mesial part and a wider distal part. The i bears to thin longitudinal ridges. The upper cheeck teeth are wider over the protocone/paracone than over the hypocone/metaocne. the anterocone of the M1 consists of two cusps thart are widely separated anteriorly and connected by a transvers ridge posteriorly. The ectolophs of upper cheek teeth are complete and sinuous. The lower m1 has a small rounded anteroconid. The metalophulid I and anterolophulid of the m2 and m3 meet at the anterior outline of the occlusal surface. The labial branch of the anterolophid of the m2 and m3 is long, but low.
