Schizogalerix macedonica

Taxonomy
Schizogalerix macedonica was named by Doukas et al. (1995) [Authorship restricted to Doukas 1995]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is AMPG MA 3041, a tooth (M1 sin.). Its type locality is Maramena, which is in a Turolian alluvial fan conglomerate/marl in the Lefkon Formation of Greece.

C. S. Doukas et al. 1995A large species of Schizogalerix with clearly divided mesostyles on the M1 and M2, and an extra cuspule next to the hypocone. The m1 and m2 have an extra cusp next to the entoconid. This cusp is better developed in the m2 than in the m1.
