Shansiella was named by Yin (1932) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour P Djhu Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. It is not extant. Its type is Gyronema altispiralis.
It was assigned to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Portlockiellidae by Knight et al. (1960), Karapunar and Nützel (2022).
