Scaptonyx dolichochir was named by Gaillard (1899) [Registrationnumber is mentioned in Hutchinson, 1974]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is UCBL FSL 69015, a limb element (Humerus sin.).
It was recombined as Urotrichus dolichochir by Hutchinson (1974).
