Taxonomy
Talpa meyeri was named by Schlosser (1877). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SMNS (4 inf. molars, many fragment, many sup. molars and 20 humeri).

It was recombined as Paratalpa meyeri by Ziegler (1990).
