Taxonomy
Schizogalerix anatolica was named by Engesser (1980). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NMB Esk-57, a maxilla (sin. with P3-M2). Its type locality is Yeni-Eskihisar, which is in a MN 7 + 8 terrestrial horizon in Türkiye.

B. Engesser 1980Typusart der neuen Gattung Schizogalerix mit gespaltenem Mesostyl an dem M sup. (am M2 etwas stärker gespalten als am M1), M1 und M2 sehr kurz und breit mit nach lingual vorstehendem Protoconus; M1 und P4 in der Diagonale rostral/lingual-caudal/labial verlängert; m inf. meit sehr engem Trigonid. Der Hypoconid-Hinterschenkel der m inf. verbindet sich met dem Schlusscingulum und zieht zum Entoconid, p3 und p4 mit relative niedriger Hauptspitze, p3 relative klein; i3 sehr stark reduziert, labial vor dem Canin sitzend. p2 zweiwurzelig;mandibuläres Vordergebiss stark verkürzt, c inf. relative klein und steil stehend.
