Geotrypus oschiriensis was named by de Bruijn and Rümke (1974). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NNM OS 301, a mandible (Fragment mandible sin. with p2-p4).

H. de Bruyn and C.G. Rümke 1974medium-sized mole: m1-m3 (alveoli) = 5.20 mm. Diastema
between P3 and P4. P3 much smaller than P4. Mesostyle slightly notched
in M3. PI>P2the mandible, p3 inserted slightly obliquely. m3 with very compressed
trigonid and paraconid lying far labially, giving the trigonid a typical skew position. Two foramina mentale, one below p2 and the other one below the posterior root of m1.
