Taxonomy
Talpa minuta was named by Blainville (1840) [Lectotype : humerus lacking much of proximal end and epicondylar wings (from Hutchison, 1974)]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is MNHN unnumbered, a limb element (humerus).

Hutchison 1974Small mole (humerus about 9,4 +/- 0,2 mm long); humerus relatively slender, distance between distal end of pectoral crest and distal end of humerus about 37% of total length; distance between distal terminus of teres tubercle and distal end about 44% of total length; length of teres tubercle about 24% of total length; maximum proximal width about 73% of total length.
