Taxonomy
Venus cuneimeris was named by Conrad (1846) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; circum-Caribbean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Anomalocardia cuneimeris by Hendy et al. (2008).

Synonyms
  • Venus auberiana was named by d'Orbigny (1853) [DISTRIBUTION: Florida-Cuba.]. It is not a trace fossil.

    It was recombined as Anomalocardia auberiana by Miller (1983); it was synonymized subjectively with Anomalocardia cuneimeris by Hendy et al. (2008).
