Crucibulum was named by Schumacher (1817) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 548]. It is extant. Its type is Patella auricula.
It was assigned to Crepidulidae by Ward and Blackwelder (1987); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Calyptraeidae by Martin (1904), Gardner (1947), Woodring (1957), Addicott (1970), Perrilliat (1987), Todd (2001), Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
It was assigned to Crepidulidae by Ward and Blackwelder (1987); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Calyptraeidae by Martin (1904), Gardner (1947), Woodring (1957), Addicott (1970), Perrilliat (1987), Todd (2001), Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
