Taxonomy
Metapterodon stromeri was named by Morales et al. (1998). Its type specimen is LT 527a’96 and LT 527b’96), a set of teeth (right M1 and M2), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Langental, which is in a Miocene terrestrial marl in Namibia.
