Taxonomy
Rectifenestella tamarensis was named by Reid (2003) [University of Tasmania Geology Department]. Its type specimen is UTGD 127516 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is B6b, West Arm, Beaconsfield, which is in a Kungurian coastal sandstone in the West Arm Formation of Australia.
