Protopithecus brasiliensis

Taxonomy
Protopithecus brasiliensis was named by Lund (1838). Its type specimen is Universitets Zoologisk Museum (UZM) 1623 and 3530, a set of limb elements (left proximal femur and right distal humerus of the same individual), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lapa do Periperi, which is in a Pleistocene cave horizon in Brazil.
