Taxonomy
Venericardia planicosta parinensis was named by Olsson (1928). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Venericardia parinensis by van Regteren Altena (1941); it was recombined as Venericardia (Venericor) parinensis by Gardner and Bowles (1939) and Hendy et al. (2008).
