Taxonomy
Fenestella exserta was named by Laseron (1918). Its type specimen is AM F20199 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Branxton railway cutting, which is in a Roadian offshore shale in the Branxton Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Fenestrellina exserta by Crockford (1941); it was recombined as Laxifenestella exserta by Reid (2003).
