Noritus pauxillus

Discussion

Original description: Test small, elongate, subcylindrical, with five to six post-abdominal chambers. Cephallis small, conical, with short, massive horn, and covered with layer of microgranular silica. Thorax and subsequent chamber trapezoidal ot rectangular in outline, consisting of variable sized polygonal pore frames with larger pores on partitions and smaller pores along a central band on each chamber. Pore frames predominantly tetragonal, pentagonal, and hexagonal in outline with irregular costae. Costae short, discontinuous, irregularly spaced.

Original remarks: Noritus pauxillus n. sp. differs from N. lillihornensis Pessagno and Whalen by haveing a more cylindrical test with shorter horn and less massive shorter costae.

Etymology: Pauxillus-a-um (Latin, adj.) small, little.

Noritus pauxillus was named by Yeh (1987). It is a 3D body fossil.
