Taxonomy
Basinotopidae was named by Karasawa et al. (2010). It is not extant. Its type is Basinotopus.

It was reranked as the subfamily Basinotopinae by Artal et al. (2022).

It was assigned to Dromioidea by Schweitzer et al. (2012); and to Dromiidae by Artal et al. (2022).
