Taxonomy
Xeinostoma was named by Stebbing (1920). It is extant. It is the type genus of Xeinostominae.

It was assigned to Xeinostomatinae by Ng et al. (2009) and Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Xeinostominae by Schweitzer et al. (2017).
