Lophiodon parvulum was named by Laurillard (1849). It is the type species of Eurohippus.
It was recombined as Propalaeotherium parvulum by Hooker (1986) and Franzen (2004); it was recombined as Eurohippus parvulus by Franzen (2006) and Remy (2017).
