Taxonomy
Arcellites santacrucensis was named by Baldoni (1987) [Dimensions. Spore body diameter, 258 (265) 291 mm; appendages: length, 294 (332) 349 mm; thickness, 7 (9) 11 mm; width at extremity, 56 (72) 89 mm. ]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Perfil de Rebasa (1982), Muestra#70, which is in the Aptian/Albian of shale the Kachaike Formation Argentina.
