Taxonomy
Tropeothyris allavensis was named by Middlemiss (1984). Its type specimen is BB 84708, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grande Lumachelle horizon, Les Allaves, which is in a Valanginian marine horizon in France.
