Taxonomy
Alauda alpestris was named by Linnaeus (1759). It is extant. It is the type species of Otocoris.
It was recombined as Otocoris alpestris by Hay (1930), Wetmore (1940) and Miller and DeMay (1942); it was recombined as Eremophila alpestris by Wetmore (1956), Guthrie (1992), Mlikovsky (2002), Zelenkov et al. (2008), Clements et al. (2017) and Carrera et al. (2018).
It was recombined as Otocoris alpestris by Hay (1930), Wetmore (1940) and Miller and DeMay (1942); it was recombined as Eremophila alpestris by Wetmore (1956), Guthrie (1992), Mlikovsky (2002), Zelenkov et al. (2008), Clements et al. (2017) and Carrera et al. (2018).
