It was assigned to Testudinoidea by Kuhn (1966); to Cryptodira by Joyce et al. (2004); to Centrocryptodira by Brinkman et al. (2008); to Pancryptodira by Rabi et al. (2014), Zhou and Rabi (2015); and to Eucryptodira by Brinkman (2001), Tong and Brinkman (2012), Ji and Chen (2018).
