Taxonomy
Ptychoparia (Solenopleura) breviceps was named by Walcott (1884). Its type specimen is USNM 24577 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pagodia breviceps by Walcott (1914); it was recombined as Oligometopus breviceps by Resser (1936).
