Taxonomy
Pliogulo dudleyi was named by White (1941). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MCZ 3688, a skull. Its type locality is Mulberry Phosphate Mines, which is in a Hemphillian marginal marine horizon in the Peace River Formation of Florida.
It was recombined as Cynogulo dudleyi by Kretzoi (1968); it was recombined as Osteoborus dudleyi by Webb (1969) and Munthe (1998); it was synonymized subjectively with Borophagus crassapineatus by Richey (1979); it was recombined as Borophagus dudleyi by Tedford et al. (1987), Wang et al. (1999) and Wang et al. (2008).
