Sister taxa: Xenochelys bridgerensis, Xenochelys floridensis, Xenochelys lostcabinensis

Type specimen: AMNH 1097, a shell (nearly complete shell). Its type locality is Quinn Draw (Lower Titanotherium Beds), which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the Chadron Formation of South Dakota.

Ecology: aquatic durophage-piscivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of United States (3: South Dakota, Wyoming collections)

Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
