Type specimen: lectotype IRScNB CtM 727/Reg 61, a partial skeleton (left & right periotics and tympanics, occipital condyle, centra of all cervical and first to seventh thoracic vertebrate). Its type locality is Deurne (Fort 1), Deurne Sand, which is in a Tortonian lagoonal sandstone in the Diest Formation of Belgium.
