Type specimen: CAS 4372, a partial skull (periotic). Its type locality is Sharktooth Hill, which is in a Langhian shoreface siltstone in the Temblor Formation of California.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Sharktooth Hill
