Type specimen: BSPG 1991 II 130, a partial skull. Its type locality is Gebel Zelten site 6412, which is in a Burdigalian marine horizon in the Maradah Formation of Libya.
Ecology: aquatic herbivore-omnivore
Distribution: found only at Gebel Zelten site 6412
