Nymphactra jonasseni was named by Stilwell and Zinsmeister (1992) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Seymour Island, Antarctica.]. Its type specimen is USNM 441633, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Nymphactra.
