It was recombined as Archaeophyllia oppeli by Beauvais (1972); it was recombined as Thecosmilia oppeli by Poletaev (2000); it was recombined as Retiophyllia oppeli by Roniewicz (1989), Prinz (1991), Caruthers and Stanley (2008).
